Discovering gryroidial forms throughout nature, from within the structure of a butterfly’s wing to the inner structure of bones, it appears to have evolved to be a material saving alternative to a solid construction.
The gyroid is at once solid and open. Though it has no interior, it fills space and performs the same function. Questioning notions of interiority and the ‘walled garden’, the project was used to develop a spatial language based on the gyroid.
